BEAVER CREEK — The Vilar Performing Arts Center announced the initial performances — including concerts by six Grammy Award winners — coming to Beaver Creek and the Vail Valley as part of the 2015 summer series. Single tickets to all of the summer events go on sale April 6 at 11 a.m. at the VPAC Box Office, which can be reached at 970-845-8497 and by visiting http://www.vilarpac.org. More concerts and performances coming to the VPAC this summer will be announced in the coming weeks. All performances will begin at 8 p.m.
Sit back and Relax
“This summer, we have curated a season of performances that contribute to the laid-back vibe offering a variety of concerts and dance shows that appeal to the entire family,” said Vilar Center Theatre Director Gena Buhler. “We invite you to sit back, relax and enjoy each of our summer offerings. And stay tuned because we will be announcing more shows coming to the VPAC this summer very, very soon.”
The summer season gets off to a high-octane, falsetto-filled start on July 2 with “Stayin’ Alive — The Bee Gees Show.” This tribute concert has played London’s West End, been featured on numerous television shows and more. The uncanny voices of the three lead singers create a truly emotional musical journey performing all of your favorite Bee Gees hits like “Night Fever,” “More Than A Woman,” “You Should be Dancing” and, of course, “Jive Talkin’.”

Grammy winner blues-rocker Jonny Lang will perform July 8. Best known for his chart-topping hit “Lie to Me,” the popular singer-songwriter will be on his summer tour promoting his latest album “Fight For My Soul.” The new album, released in September 2014 on Concord Records, is the follow-up to his Grammy Award winning 2006 album “Turn Around.”
DanceBrazil will perform July 10 with its unique fusion of Afro-Brazilian movement, contemporary dance and Capoeira.
Music lovers are in for a treat July 17 when three vocal luminaries perform together in a brand new concert appropriately titled Sweet Harmony Soul. The concert stars Grammy-winning soul singing treasure Mavis Staples of The Staples Singers, Grammy-winning folk music legend Patty Griffin and singer-songwriter Amy Helm. Each artist will showcase their talents through solo performances. The evening will culminate when all three join together for a finale set.
Love is in the air
Love will fill the mountain air on July 25 when singing duo Vince Gill and Amy Grant return with an all-new acoustic concert. The married duo will perform a variety of stripped-down versions of their biggest hits and favorite songs.
No one can escape the contagious and unique vibe of Grammy winners, the Gipsy Kings. They bring a blend of traditional flamenco styles with western pop and Latin rhythms to town Aug. 19. Currently touring to promote their ninth studio album “Savor Flamenco,” the Gipsy Kings have sold nearly 20 million albums in a 25-year timespan all while retaining the same line-up of musicians.
