EAGLE — Bonfire Brewing and Optimum Events announced this week the Dirty Dozen Brass Band would serve as headlining act on the Broadway Main Stage at the 2016 Bonfire Block Party on Friday, June 3. For 35 years, the popular, New Orleans-based band has traveled the world and brought its energy, diverse music and a healthy dose of humor to stages of all sizes, shapes and flavors.
Dirty Dozen Brass Band follows the opening band, The Congress, and precedes closing act SunSquabi, which is scheduled to take the stage at 9:30 p.m. Vail-based The Altitones warm up the crowd, while The Workshys will play between sets on the Bonfire Second Street Stage, located adjacent to Bonfire Brewing in Eagle. All music gets under way at 4 p.m., and Dirty Dozen Brass Band takes the stage at 7:30 p.m. All concerts are free, open to the public and family-friendly.
Signature Opening Event
The Bonfire Block Party has become the signature opening event for the Eagle Outside Festival Bike & Outdoor Expo, which takes place Saturday, June 4, and Sunday, June 5, attracting bike enthusiasts from around the Rocky Mountain region to kick off the summer riding season with demos, races and group rides in and around Eagle. Bonfire Brewing is sponsoring this year’s Block Party, with plans to release three new beers throughout the evening.
“We’re excited to partner with the Eagle Outside Festival, the town of Eagle and Optimum Events to continue the amazing trajectory of this annual kickoff event,” said Bonfire owner Andy Jessen. “We’ll once again get to hang out in the streets of downtown Eagle with a beer in hand, listen to nationally recognized music and eat some delicious food from local restaurants.
“With a slightly later date than in 2015, enhanced awareness of the party, the perfectly sized event footprint and the release of three new Bonfire brews, it will be great to see people from across the community come to gather ’round.”
Food and Parking
Several local food vendors are slated to be on hand during the event, and Nozawa Sushi and the Brush Creek Saloon, both located on Broadway in Eagle, also will be open for business.
Vehicle access on Broadway and Second streets in Eagle will be limited beginning Friday morning, June 3, and will remain closed for the remainder of the event. Free public parking is available throughout the town of Eagle, and attendees are asked to respect all parking signage, in addition to the numerous private residences adjacent to the event.
