Mylissa Eckdahl, of Eagle, passed away Friday

EAGLE, Colorado “-Longtime Eagle, Colorado resident Mylissa Eckdahl died early Friday morning at Vail Valley Medical Center.
Eckdahl was left quadriplegic as a result of a 2001 automobile accident. She faced the daily challenges of her life with bravery and grace and approached her disability as a learning experience for herself and for others.
Eckdahl was the devoted mother of daughters Rachel, 17, and Erin, 15 and the stalwart friend of many people in the community. She often expressed her sincere gratitude to the entire Eagle Valley community for the support given to both her and her family in the aftermath of the accident.
Last year, musician Peter Kater performed a benefit concert for Eckdahl. At the time Eckdahl spoke her love of the community and of the on-going help she had received.
“People continually go out of their way to make my life better. I don’t take it or granted for one second,” she said.
