AVON, Colorado – Avon restaurant and wine bar, vin48, is hosting a Napa Valley-focused wine tasting this week. Tonight Winemaker Mike Trujillo of Karl Lawrence Cellars will lead a wine tasting. The event will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. in the restaurant’s wine bar.

Karl Lawrence was founded in 1991 by Mike Trujillo ans his good friend Bryan Henry. The name Karl Lawrence comes from the two middle names of the founding friends. Karl Lawrence focuses entirely on producing premium cabernet sauvignon from California’s Napa Valley. Trujillo sources cabernet from three renowned Napa Valley vineyards and appellations: Gary Morisoli Vineyard in Rutherford, Beckstoffer Vineyards in Oakville and Herb Lamb Vineyards at the base of Howell Mountain. Trujillo’s talents lie in the artful blending of grapes from these diverse regions to produce a full-bodied and well-balanced wine.

“Our guests have always enjoyed the well balanced Cabs from Karl Lawrence,” said Greg Eynon, owner of vin48. “This is a great opportunity to spend some time with Mike and taste multiple vintages of these outstanding Napa Valley wines.”

Every Wednesday, the restaurant will serve wines from visiting winemakers, importers and industry insiders, paired with chef/owner Charles Hays’ cuisine. All the wines served are available for purchase at discounted prices from Beaver Liquors in Avon.
