National Guard to talk to local contractors about Vail Valley construction project
Vail, CO, Colorado
Representatives from the Colorado National Guard will hold a meeting May 26 to talk to Vail Valley contractors about a coming construction project at the High Altitude Army Aviation Training Site at the Eagle County Regional Airport. The meeting will be held at the Eagle County Building, 500 Broadway, from 10 a.m. – noon.
The meeting will provide information about how to do business with the federal government, including contractor selection criteria. The anticipated construction schedule and scope of the project will also be explained.
The new aviation training facility will sit on 14 acres, and will include a 102,000 square foot building for administration, training and flight planning. There will also be enough space in the maintenance hangar to park four twin-rotor Chinook cargo helicopters.
The National Guard is committed to sustainable design and construction principles, and the project will use the LEED rating system as the primary guide for sustainability. It is designed to achieve a Silver rating.
