National Night Out is Tuesday in Eagle County
Vail, CO Colorado
AVON, Colorado – The Avon police and the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office are hosting events for National Night Out today.
Avon’s National Night Out is Tuesday at O’Neil Spur Park in Wildridge, Aspens Mobile Home Park and Eaglebend Drive Pocket Park.
The event, which starts at 6 p.m. in each park, provides an opportunity for citizens and the Avon Police Department to increase crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for anti-crime programs, and strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships.-
If you have questions or would like to volunteer, call Officer Matt Jamison with the Avon Police Department at 970-748-4040.
The Eagle County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting two free community cookouts from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at the Freedom Park Pavilion in Edwards and at the Lundgren Amphitheater in Gypsum, where there will be live music, face painting, a bouncy castle, lawn games, contests, “touch a truck,” K-9 demonstrations, and an appearance by McGruff the Crime Fighting Dog.
Those units are all deed-restricted, meaning that only people who work an annual average of 30 hours per week can live there. That keeps the apartments out of the short-term rental pool and available to local residents.
