Navigating your relationship in the Vail Valley
Vail, CO Colorado
Happy ever after, as we all know, is mostly in fairy tales. For those who are married or in committed relationships in Colorado’s Vail Valley, which may be good enough but need some help from time to time, a new course being offered could help. A relationship course can teach you how to bring back the romance and the connection to your relationship, how to deepen your bond and how to be both connected but independent.
Mary Lamb Lucas, a psychotherapist in Edwards and a trained Imago Relationship Therapist, will be teaching a course for couples (married or not) beginning Oct. 5. She has been a therapist for over 15 years, first in Virginia and in Colorado for the past three years.
The course is based on the work of Harville Hendrix and his wife, Helen. They wrote the book, “Getting the Love You Want.”
“This is work that transforms relationships and transforms lives,” Lamb said. “It will be educational in nature and will provide information and tools to help couples create the relationship of their dreams.”
The course will focus on the three stages of relationship and how to negotiate them. It will talk about why we choose the people we do and how that person can be the key to help us grow, get more out of life, and live it more fully. The core tool that will be taught is something called the intentional dialogue. There will be examples given and things to practice at home.
The first course is from 7 to 9 p.m. Oct. 5. The course is six weeks. It will be held at the Vail Chapel. Cost is $300 per couple. Enrollment is now being accepted. To enroll, call or e-mail Mary Lamb Lucas at 970-401-3600 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
