BEAVER CREEK — Paderewski Fine Art welcomes neo-pop art artist Bregelle Whitworth Davis.
As a “colorist,” Davis uses a limited, three-color palette to bring out the life and energy of each subject, all contained within the space of a simple canvas.
Her style taps her background in illustration, as well as her desire to reinvent the pop art movement. She describes her approach as bridging “the crisp illusion of silk screening” with the “rich textured surface of painting.”
Davis’ unique approach to painting was fueled by the desire to reinvent the pop-art movement. Drawing inspiration from artists like Andy Warhol, Alphonse Mucha and Mark Rothko, she has taken the idea of mass production and turned it around, leading to her neo-pop art style.
“Art is an expression of myself, I want to redefine pop-art and make everything unique,” Davis said.
Davis attended Brigham Young University of Idaho where she was awarded several scholarships for artistic and academic excellence, and finished a bachelor’s degree in illustration in record time. She has also been invited to participate in the National Museum of Wildlife Art’s Western Visions Show.
Paderewski Fine Art is located in Beaver Creek, on the Plaza level of the Hyatt, across from the ice rink. Call 970-949-6036 or visit http://www.paderewskifineart.com.
