New construction-worker parking opens
Vail CO, Colorado
VAIL ” A new 180-space parking lot opened Monday at the base of Golden Peak ski runs at Vail Mountain, aiming to free up more parking at the Vail Village and Lionshead parking structures.
Construction workers from Manor Vail and other nearby sites are using the lot. The area will be used for parking from now to Sept. 15. Access will be allowed from 6 a.m to 7:30 p.m. for construction workers only. Overnight and public parking will not be allowed.
Vail Resorts helped get the new plan for the Golden Peak lot up and running.
The parking adjustments are being made following concerns this summer about lack of available parking for tourists.
This month, town workers are limiting the number of vehicles entering the Vail Village parking structure from 6 to 7:50 a.m. The early morning vehicle cap is intended to free up spaces for designated shopper parking, which will be available beginning at 10 a.m. on the top deck of the village structure as well as the second level of the Lionshead structure.
