Vail, CO Colorado

EAGLE-VAIL, Colorado – With summer on the way, Eagle-Vail is seeking a manager for its new swimming pool. Scheduled to open May 14, it is the only outdoor public pool in the eastern valley and features a six-lane, 25-meter, competition pool with slide and a smaller kiddie pool.

“It is a very exciting and attractive amenity for the valley and for Eagle-Vail, which is why we are seeking a highly energetic, experienced and creative manager,” said Jeff Layman, Eagle-Vail Community Manager.

Layman said that programming at the new pool is a priority and applicants should be experienced and enthusiastic about working with people and developing pool programs. The new pool will see a kids’ swim team, swimming lessons, master’s swimming, stroke clinics, aqua aerobics, special events and other activities. A winter activities professional might find the pool manager’s job a perfect fit, Layman said. The manager will begin working in April and continue through September.

The $3.7 million outdoor pool is one of many improvements in Eagle-Vail as part of a multi-year revitalization plan.

The facility features a modern pool house with lockers, family changing rooms and showers in addition to the pools and activities areas. The swimming pool is equipped with a waveless gutter system while the kiddie pool features a gradual, “zero” entry into the pool and a water spray feature.

The pool opens May 14. A grand opening celebration is scheduled for Memorial Day. Swim team and lessons will take place in the early mornings and it will be open to the public from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. every day through Labor Day. It will be open on weekends through September, closing Sept. 25. A series of free days will be offered throughout the summer to introduce the new pool to the valley.

For more information and a look at the job description, call Layman, 970-949-5400.
