GLENWOOD SPRINGS – Rich and Gloria Edwards, formerly of Fire Ready, recently announced they had opened a new business, High Country Forestry.

“We have expanded our services to include professional planning and consulting as well as on-the-ground forest thinning and restoration.” Rich Edwards said. “Our clients can now use one company to provide quality tree management for private lots, ranches, municipalities and agencies to manage wildfire risk, tree and forest health, pests and diseases.”

High Country Forestry’s clients are in Garfield, Pitkin and Eagle counties, and services include wildfire mitigation and thinning methods, beetle surveys and management, and project cost assessments and analysis. The Edwards say their company is unique in taking an overall forest health approach to manage surrounding trees.

“This is a great way for people to become stewards of their land – forestry and mitigation does not have to mean clear cutting trees,” Rich Edwards said.

High Country Forestry has more than 25 years of forestry and wildfire management experience. Staff also have certifications required by state and federal agencies for projects.
