EDWARDS, Colorado ” Dr. Nick Bitz has recently joined Dr. Deborah Wiancek at the Riverwalk Natural Health Clinic.

“After living in Seattle for the past seven years, it’s especially nice to be back in the Colorado sunshine again, living and working and recreating in the mountains,” Bitz said. “And given the state of the economy and the changing face of healthcare, I think there’s a real need for preventive and holistic medicine right now in the Vail Valley. I’m excited about the prospect of offering that perspective.”

Bitz is a Colorado native and a licensed Naturopathic physician. He completed his medical degree and residency at Bastyr University in Seattle. Dr. Bitz has extensive training in natural medicine and has worked in various hospital and clinical-settings throughout Washington, Colorado and India. As a natural family doctor, he integrates the best of modern science with ancient healing traditions to effectively treat all patients regardless of age or medical condition.

Bitz specializes in herbal medicine, clinical nutrition, homeopathy, various forms of body-work and ayurveda. Ayurveda is the traditional medical system of India and the sister science of yoga. It is considered the first form of medicine in the world and has been practiced continuously for more than 5,000 years. The word “ayurveda” literally means the science of life, encompassing much more than just medical diagnosis and treatment. As an Ayurvedic specialist, Dr. Bitz uses face, tongue and pulse diagnosis along with lab tests to determine an individual’s particular constitution and pathology. He then provides natural, non-toxic therapies to support the individual’s constitution and to promote optimal health.
