VAIL – The Marketplace on Meadow Drive (MOMD) recently welcomed a new baker, Jim Peplinski. Peplinski comes from a long line of bakers in his family. With both German and Polish grandmothers, he learned various techniques and recipes that he’s now using to make pastries for hungry guests each morning. Peplinski is making homemade donuts, cinnamon rolls, sticky buns, cinnamon twists, strudel coffee cake and monkey bread, a pull-apart sticky bun cake.

“Why buy frozen products or those full of preservatives when you can have fresh from The Marketplace?” said Marketplace Manager Michael McNichols. “We use high-quality organic pastry and cake flours to offer the highest quality and the healthiest product to our valued customers.”

In celebration of the end of the 2011 ski season, MOMD is also offering deep discounts to its patrons. Today guests can enjoy 20 percent off all market items. Friday through Easter Sunday, it jumps to 30 percent and finally, a 40 percent off from Monday until April 30.

The Wine Shop at MOMD is also offering discounts until April 30. Buy any two items and get 15 percent off, three items enjoy 20 percent off and for purchases with four items, guests will receive 25 percent off.

Place your order this Saturday by 10 a.m. for breakfast pastries and celebrate Easter Sunday with some sweet breakfast treats by calling 970-477-4370.
