EAGLE-VAIL, Colorado – Owners Chris Gioia and Jim Jones have announced the opening of their new automotive shop and Uhaul rental center, Ascent Automotive, which officially opened May 14. The two long-time locals bring more than 27 years of combined automotive repair, installation and maintenance experience to their new business, located at 41199 Highway 6 in Eagle-Vail behind Colorado Bike Service and Pier 13 Liquor in the Dowd Commercial Center.

“We’re excited to open our doors and start working on vehicles,” Jones said. “Chris and I have known each other and worked together on and off over the last 10 years. It’s been a dream of ours to have our own shop. When the opportunity to partner presented itself, we couldn’t let it pass.”

Jones and Gioia have impressive automotive backgrounds including numerous Automotive Service Excellence and Environmental Protection Agency certifications. In addition, Gioia is a Master ASE Certified Technician and Jones has an 8,000-hour mechanical degree and numerous diagnostic certifications including those in alternators and computers.

“This is a strong partnership,” Gioia said. “We have an equally vested interest in the success of the business and our reputations as automotive technicians, businessmen and members of this community. Our goal is to remove the fear and ambiguity from having work done on your vehicle and to become a partner for our clients, making certain that their vehicles are safe and that they get the longest and most economical life out of them.”

Ascent Automotive offers and recommends service plans designed to take the guesswork out of vehicle maintenance providing time to prepare for regularly needed servicing and to reduce the likelihood of breakdowns and mechanical failures.

“We feel it’s our job to help point out potential issues that we notice while working on your car,” Giola said. “In the end it saves our clients money and frustration. If I’m replacing your brake pads and notice that something else is wrong, I’ll email the client a photo and ask if they want me to repair it on the spot. Often this will save labor costs since I already have the vehicle taken apart.”

“Our philosophy is to treat people like we’d want to be treated, or like I’d want my wife or children to be treated,” Jones said. “It’s really the simple things that we hope distinguish us from other auto shops. Because we own the business and do the work clients can be assured that work will be thorough and backed by our personal integrity. “

Ascent Automotive is multidisciplinary and equally adept to working on domestic, imported, diesel, personal vehicles and fleet and work vehicles. One of the shop’s three lifts can elevate up to 15,000-pound people movers and large commercial vehicles. In addition, Jones and Gioia have extensive experience in complicated wiring and outfitting jobs ranging from retrofitting ambulances and police cars to installing snow plows and lift kits on four wheel drives.

Ascent Automotive offers flexible fleet rates depending on the size and usage of a business’s fleet.
