Daily staff reportnewsroom@vaildaily.comVAIL CO, Colorado

EAGLE – Beginning Saturday night, the Back Bowl in Eagle will host a new weekly series of events as it introduces the ShyGuy Variety show. The ShyGuy Variety show will introduce a different event each Saturday from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. The concept is to keep the action lively, fresh and eclectic each week, rather than having a single long running event that might get stale after a while, much in the same vein as a music venue offering fresh acts each week. The variety show is the brainchild of DJ ShyGuy who brought his karaoke and trivia concept to the Bowlmor Lounge last winter, resulting in one of the Back Bowl’s most popular weekly events, in which team trivia for prizes is interspersed with karaoke performances.Originally based on the Outer Banks in North Carolina, Andre Shy, who’s DJ ShyGuy persona, paved the way to a successful 8 years on the East Coast. He relocated to Colorado to pursue the familiar dream of the mountain lifestyle. His talent and reputation for driving the party action at local clubs soon earned him an opportunity to work with ESPN and a gig spinning for a weeklong series of ESPN’s official after-parties at the X-Games. The first ShyGuy Variety night will feature open mic, followed by men’s arm wrestling on Oct. 5, then the dance floor opens up for salsa night on Oct. 12 and, finally, a bingo night on Oct. 27.The popular Karaoke & Trivia parties will continue every Friday night throughout the off-season.
