New wine to be unveiled in Edwards
EDWARDS — Join local winemaker Pollyanna Forster on Friday from 5-7 p.m. on the patio of eat!drink! in Edwards to sample the latest from her “Muse” label: a Spanish Rosé. Complimentary glasses of her new chilled vino will be served, along with a selection of the shop’s artisan cheeses.
Forster, a longtime local entrepreneur, has had her Muse wines in stock at eat!drink! since she and partner Chris Irving opened the wine and cheese emporium nine years ago. Her current varietals — a verdejo, a tempranillo, and a sparkling cava — are all Spanish wines, and she continues her Castilian love affair with this latest one as well. Forster fell for rosés on a tasting trip to Europe many years ago, and has looked long and hard to find just the right blend of grapes to call her own. Her Muse Rosé is the result of an international partnership with a small boutique vineyard in Campo di Borja, Spain. The “intentional rosé” is created by blending two separate wines (one made from the garnacha grape, the other from the viura) after they have become wines in their own right.
“The first thing I crave on a sunny day is a chilled rosé, so for me, this new wine was something I really wanted to get right. And we did!” she said.
