Agave in Avon hosts a free, double bill show Tuesday night as part of Agave’s Tacos ‘N’ Tunes series.

Perpetually youthful percussion wizard Mike Dillon, most famous for accompanying Primus frontman Les Claypool in various side projects as well as his work in all-star dirty funk outfit Garage A Trois, loves to snowboard, and makes it a point to get to the Colorado mountains a couple times annually to snowboard. He also loves to get down, and his young namesake band has the chops to back their musically fearless leader, helmed by a deep pocket rhythm section and spunky Carly Meyers on trombone and outrageous dance moves.

The West Water Outlaws have a thirst for hard rocking blues, similar to fellow Boulder standout rockers Rose Hill Drive and predecessors like Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath. “These guys like it loud and dirty, which meant it took no time to convince Mike (Dillon) to join the show, he loves their sound,” said Agave show promoter Crawford Byers of Rocky Mountain Entertainment. “These West Water kids are likely to be the next big band out of Boulder.”
