Next homebuyer class set for Monday at Welcome Center
VAIL — There’s still time to learn about the steps that can be taken to own a home at the future Chamonix Vail neighborhood in West Vail during the last in a series of homebuyer information sessions to be held on Monday. Sponsored by the town of Vail and the Chamonix Vail development team, the information session will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. at The Grand View room on the third level of the Lionshead Village Welcome Center. Parking is free upon entry after 3 p.m.
Designing and building Chamonix
Leading the design and build team on behalf of the town is Triumph Development West LLC, which has developed multi-family, commercial, hospitality and single-family homes in Vail and other mountain communities. The general contractor is R.A. Nelson, which has had a presence in the valley for 40 years. Rounding out the development team is 359 Design, which is known for crafting meaningful and efficient design solutions. That firm most recently completed the design work for the deed restricted Burlingame Ranch neighborhood in Aspen.
With a lottery application deadline of 5 p.m. March 17 for prospective Chamonix Vail homebuyers, the design-build representatives will be on hand through the evening to answer any last-minute questions about floor plans, energy-efficiency, pricing, construction schedules, qualifications, financing, deed restrictions and other matters.

Participate in The Longevity Project
The Longevity Project is an annual campaign to help educate readers about what it takes to live a long, fulfilling life in our valley. This year Kevin shares his story of hope and celebration of life with his presentation Cracked, Not Broken as we explore the critical and relevant topic of mental health.
Lottery applicants will be selecting from among 32 deed restricted townhomes to be built on the town-owned parcel, located at 2310 Chamonix Road. Chamonix Vail includes five distinctive floor plans with a combination of two and three-bedrooms and numerous amenities, including energy efficiencies, enclosed garages, ample storage space, outdoor patios and a neighborhood gathering space and community garden.
To date, more than 100 potential homebuyers have identified their preferred home and expressed their intent to participate in the May 3 lottery that will determine purchase opportunities.
To participate in the lottery, buyers must prequalify, complete a free, two-hour homebuyer education class offered by the Valley Home Store and submit a completed homebuyer application prior to the 5 p.m. deadline on Friday.
A spring construction start is anticipated for Chamonix Vail with the first families moving into the new homes in the fourth quarter of 2017.
