No charges for man who killed pit bull
BROOMFIELD ” A man who stabbed and slashed the throat of a pit bull who was attacking his Doberman at a dog park won’t face any charges.
In a statement Tuesday, District Attorney Don Quick said it would be too difficult to prove that Jeff Black unnecessarily killed the pit bull named Mac.
Mac and Black’s Doberman, named Spike, began fighting July 30 at the Broomfield Commons Dog Park. After trying to separate the dogs, Black took out a pocket knife and stabbed and slashed the pit bull.
A veterinarian found Mac had no bite marks on him while Spike had bite marks to his snout and neck.
“This was a tragic event for everyone involved,” Quick said.
