Nonstop Dallas, Chicago, Denver flights to return
VAIL – Direct summer flights from Dallas, Chicago and Denver to Eagle County Regional Airport will return June 8 through Sept. 5 as part of the Fly Vail Summer program.Fly Vail Summer was launched in 2002 following the success of the Vail Resorts winter flight guarantee program. Flight guarantees provide financial assurance to airlines that flights will have a certain capacity. For 2006, the Fly Vail Summer program has raised over $500,000 in pledges from Eagle County as well as a wide variety of local hotels, banks, real estate firms, merchant organizations and individual towns. “The financial pledges offered by the local businesses community allow us to guarantee these summer flights between Vail and three of our target destination markets,” said Kelli McDonald, vice president of marketing a the Vail Valley Chamber and Tourism Bureau. Fly Vail Summer was launched in 2002 with summer service from Denver on United Airlines that had a total of 306 flights and 6,399 passengers from June to September.
