VAIL, Colorado – The Notre Dame Undertones, an all-male a cappella group from the University of Notre Dame, will perform at The Vail Interfaith Chapel on Wednesday, at 7 p.m. This 12-member group, a subset of the Notre Dame Glee Club, has toured extensively throughout the United States and appeared in Europe, Latin America and Asia. The Undertones sing a variety of vocal pop music, ranging from Disney classics to recent favorites from Dave Matthews, The Fray and Maroon 5. Their musical styling’s are featured extensively on campus, including performances after every Notre Dame home football game, on radio programs throughout the country, and on several NBC broadcasts of Notre Dame football.

The “Tones,” as they are known on campus, will be performing spirituals, barbershop and Notre Dame favorites in addition to their usual popular music during their Spring concert tour through the western states. The Undertones have recorded six albums, including their most recent issue: “Stranded,” which was released in September of 2009.

Admission to the concert is free, although donations will gladly be applied towards the group’s care, feeding and gas money with any remaining sums applied to the Club’s Scholarship Fund. A brief meeting will be held at 6 p.m. in the fellowship room, located in the lower level of the Vail Chapel for all area Notre Dame and Saint Mary’s College Alumni and anyone wishing to learn more about the Alumni Club. As has been the tradition, membership to Notre Dame Alumni clubs is open to all.

The Club will sponsor several upcoming service projects, including a blood drive on June 5 and a Habitat for Humanity build day on June 19 in honor of the University’s former president, Fr. Theodore Hesburgh. The Club is also working with The Vail Symposium to sponsor a Hesburgh Lecture in September.
