“TROPIC THUNDER”

The Abba songbook provides the lyrics and melodies for this comic romance about a former girl-group singer, her about-to-be-married daughter and the three men who might be the girl’s father. With Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth and Stellan Skarsgard. Directed by Phyllida Lloyd. PG-13 for some sex-related comments.



“SPACE CHIMPS”

Simian astronauts aid the inhabitants of a distant planet and must figure out how to return to Earth in this animated featured. With the voices of Cheryl Hines, Stanley Tucci and Kristin Chenoweth. Written and directed by Kirk De Micco. G.

“JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH”

An update of the Jules Verne classic finds a scientist searching for his missing brother. With Brendan Fraser. Directed by Eric Brevig. PG for intense adventure action and some scary moments.

“STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS”

The fate of the “Star Wars” universe rests in the hands of the Jedi knights as Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Padme Amidala battle it out. Directed by Dave Filoni. Written by George Lucas. PG for sci-fi action violence throughout, brief language and momentary smoking.

“MIRRORS”

An ex-cop turned security guard at a department store closed by a fire discovers secrets hidden in the store mirrors that threaten his family. With Kiefer Sutherland. R for strong violence, disturbing images, language and brief nudity.

“PINEAPPLE EXPRESS”

A hard-core stoner witnesses a murder by a crooked cop and in a panic dumps his stash of rare weed, triggering a wacky pursuit. With Seth Rogen and James Franco. Directed by David Gordon Green. R for pervasive language, drug use, sexual references and violence.

“THE SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING PANTS 2”

The four friends go their separate ways to college but continue to share their experiences. With Amber Tamblyn, America Ferrera, Blake Lively and Alexis Bledel. Directed by Sanaa Hamri. PG-13 for mature material and sensuality.

“KIT KITTREDGE”

The project is a drama based on the American Girl doll line and centers on Kit Kittredge, a young woman who grows up in the early years of the Great Depression. Rated G.
