Now showing at Eagle, Avon libraries
VAIL VALLEY, Colorado – Film buffs, unite! Beginning Wednesday, the Avon and Eagle Public Libraries will offer an ongoing film series called Now Showing @ EVLD. The community rooms in both libraries have been outfitted with new projection equipment and surround sound. Now Showing @ EVLD will offer free film screenings at both locations. The first series, themed “From Page to Screen,” begins on Wednesday at the Avon Public Library and will feature films based on bestselling books: “Julie & Julia,” “The Motorcycle Diaries” and “The Soloist.” The Eagle Public Library will kick off the program on Sunday with a series of Sunday musicals: “The Unsinkable Molly Brown,” “The Phantom of the Opera,” “Funny Girl,” and “The Wiz.” “Through this ongoing film series, we hope to offer a little bit of everything – including foreign films, documentaries, musicals, and more,” said Cortni O’Brien, a librarian with the Eagle Valley Library District. “Throughout the year, we plan to bring you films that are thought-provoking, noteworthy and a little out of the ordinary.”All film screenings are free and open to the public.
