Obama, Palin bound for Colorado

DENVER, Colorado ” Barack Obama is coming back to Colorado on Monday ” his first return to the state since accepting his party’s nomination for president Aug. 28 at Invesco Field at Mile High, sources said Wednesday.

Details about Obama’s visit haven’t been released yet, but it could make for a busy week in what both campaigns feel is a vital battleground state.

That’s because Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin is expected to be in Colorado early next week as well, sources said.

The Democratic senator’s campaign didn’t immediately release details Wednesday.

Obama accepted his party’s nomination for president in Denver during the last night of the Democratic National Convention on Aug. 28.

His Republican opponent John McCain last visited Colorado for a rally Sept. 6 in Colorado Springs.

Both campaigns consider Colorado to be a battleground state in play.
