Arrowhead builder Bill Armstead, partner of Resort Concepts, died Friday surrounded by members of his family. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed running, skiing, fly fishing, hiking and biking.

Bill was raised in Dallas, Texas, and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin. While living in Dallas, Bill designed and built homes that were featured in many architectural publications.

After relocating to the Vail Valley, Bill continued designing and building luxury homes. Bill is survived by his wife, Anita, and daughter, Taylor, as well as a brother and three sisters and numerous nieces and nephews. One of Bill’s finest accomplishments was his courageous, lengthy battle with cancer, which won him the admiration of those who were fortunate enough to know him. He is deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

Services will be held at the Vail Interfaith Chapel at 2 p.m. Wednesday, with a reception following at the Arrowhead Alpine Club. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shaw Cancer Center Caring House, P.O. Box 40000, Vail, CO 81658.
