Betsy Britt, 1930-2005

Betsy Britt, of Rifle, passed away Nov. 2 at her home. She was 75.

She was born March 5, 1930, in Denver, to William Andrew and Dorthy (Cadwallder) Tipton. She grew up in Denver and graduated from West High School.

She married Fred Britt on May 27, 1950, in Littleton. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Gypsum. She was a homemaker in Rifle for 14 years.

Her special interests were sewing, crafts, playing cards, gardening and sightseeing.

Survivors include sons Fred J., John, and Bill Britt; daughter Elsie Britt; brother Paul Burton; sisters Marge Applewhite of Shell Knob, Mo., Elaine Marten of Indiana, and Mary Ellen Powell of Olathe; and grandchildren William David Britt and Carolyn Nicole Land.

Betsy was preceded in death by her husband.

There will be a chapel service at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Crown Hill Mortuary in Denver, with Doris Nolan officiating. Interment will be at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Denver.
