Branko Peros, 1924 – 2002

He loved soccer, swimming, horseback riding, cooking, hiking in the mountains of Colorado and his family.

Born in Zaton, Croatia, he worked for 20 years in the ship-building industry and on other engineering/building projects. He immigrated to the United States in 1966 and lived in Cleveland, where opportunities to work in his profession were limited.

Nonetheless, he persevered and successfully established a structure of support for his family which enabled his children to thrive and build successful careers.

He moved to Leadville every summer to be with Ante and his family and was a big fan of Pepi’s. His annual Pig Roasts at Rancha Domovina, the Peros Residence in Sylvan Lakes, will never be forgotten.

He is survived by: his wife, Milenka; two daughters, Vera Weill-Halle (Emmanuelle) of Bethesda Md., and Davorka Peros of Germantown, Md.; and two sons, Don Peros of Germantown and Ante Peros (Ginny) of Leadville; and seven grandchildren, Chris Gathright, Jesse Peros, Melissa Peros, Ashley McCuaig, Aleksandra Kilibarda, Natasha Kilibarda, Nicole Peros and Noah Peros.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Branko Peros Memorial Fund at the First Mountain Bank in Leadville, 409 Harrison Ave., Leadville, CO, 80461.
