Christina Salazar of Red Cliff, died Tuesday

Christina “Edna” Salazar, a life-long resident of Red Cliff, lost her battle with breast cancer Tuesday. She was 55.

Salazar was born on April 19, 1950, in Leadville. She was an owner of Reno Cafe and Bar in Red Cliff for 20 years until it was sold in 2004.

She was preceded in death by both parents, Vicente and Teresita Valencia; her son, Jeremiah Edward; and a brother, Vicente Valencia Jr.

She is survived by husband George Salazar; Evette (Anthony) Romero, Emily (Michael) Martinez, Michael (April) Salazar, Zacariah, Jason, Tanya, Christopher and Josef; 11 grandchildren; four sisters; two brothers and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up at FirstBank of Minturn. A Rosary will be held at 7 p.m., today at the Red Cliff gymnasium. A Mass will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday at the gymnasium.Vail, Colorado
