Christopher William Jenkins, 54, of Avon, died Jan. 20.

He was born Nov. 4, 1956, in Rutland, Vt., to G. William Jenkins Jr. and Nancy P. Jenkins. He graduated from Rutland High School in 1974 and attended Castleton State College.

Chris apprenticed with Schwaiger Brothers (Jake and Sepp) as a framing contractor. He worked for Pico Ski Resort as a ski instructor and snowmaker and as a framing contractor for Schwaiger Brothers from 1975 through 1991.

In 1992, he moved to Colorado, where he started JBCBD Inc., a building contracting firm. He operated his business in Eagle County until the time of his death.

He worked for Vail Resort during the winter of 2009-10.

Chris was an animal lover and shared his life with many special dogs. He enjoyed skiing, softball, football and hunting.

He is survived by his parents; his partner, Wendy Gallagher Mullaney; his sisters, Betsey Kiehl, of Vail, and Deb Fennell, of Jeffersonville, Vt.; brothers-in-laws Jeffrey “Woody” Kiehl and Larry Fennell; and nieces Lindsey Kiehl and Jessica Fennell.

Memorial services will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at Brush Creek Pavilion in Eagle. Ashes will be scattered at Pico Mountain in Vermont.
