Danny Jay Burr, 1955-2006

Former Eagle resident Danny Jay Burr, 51, died Monday at his home in Kremmling.
Danny was born Dec. 9, 1955, in Jefferson, Iowa, the son of Harold J. “Bud” and Peggy (Steen) Burr. The Burr family moved to Eagle, where the children grew up.
Burr graduated from Eagle Valley High School in 1974 and attended Blair Business College. He served in the U.S. Army, attaining the rank of sergeant.
He married Yvonne R. Clobes on Dec. 18, 1982, in Fountain, Colo. They raised two children together, Erin and Cory. Burr was a heavy equipment mechanic for the Colorado Department of Transportation.
Danny was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association, a friends of National Rifle Association committee member, a hunting instructor, a member of Blue Valley Sportsman’s Club, a 4-H shooting sports leader in Grand and Summit counties, a state Instructor for 4-H shooting sports, chairman of Blue Valley Metropolitan District board of directors, and a part-time bus driver for West Grand School District.
Burr’s hobbies included hunting, muzzle loading, shooting sports, fixing things, reading and he was a die-hard Ford man, family members said.
He is survived by his wife Yvonne, his daughter Erin Burr, his son Cory Burr, his mother Peggy Burr and his sister Vicki L. Garcia. He was preceded in death by his father Harold J. “Bud” Burr.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Kremmling with Father John Murphy and Pastor Allen Pulliam officiating. Interment will be at Kremmling Cemetery.
