Della Rodriguez, 1920-2007

Longtime valley resident Della Rodriguez died Tuesday. She was 86.
Della was born on Oct. 27, 1920, in Vadito, N.M.
She was a baptized Jehovah’s Witness, who loved reading the Bible and sharing her faith with others, family members said.
During her time in the valley, Rodriguez lived in Gilman, Minturn, and Gypsum. She and her husband, Fabian, were the last family to move out of Gilman when the town was abandoned in the early 1980s.
Rodriguez enjoyed baking pastries, doing word search puzzles and watching sports on television, family members said.

A memorial service will be held at the Gypsum Town Hall, 50 Lundgren Boulevard, at 2 p.m. Sunday. A reception will follow.
