Dr. Ronald Wilkison died Tuesday

Dr. Ronald H. Wilkison of Bettendorf, Iowa, died Tuesday at his home. He was 72.

Wilkison was born in Iowa City, Iowa, to Howard L. and Ruth M. Wilkison. He graduated from Iowa City High School in 1952, and on Sept. 7, 1957, married Judy Bishop in Phoenixville, Penn.

He attended the University of Iowa from 1952 until 1961, earning degrees in dentistry and oral surgery. From 1961 to 1963, he served in the U.S. Army as an oral surgeon.

He then began his practice in oral surgery in Davenport, Iowa, in 1963 and later co-founded Spring Park Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery P.C.

After his retirement in 1993, he spent his time with his family and friends in Colorado and Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by both parents.

He is survived by his wife; and his children: David (Rhonda) Wilkison and their children, Lindsey and Chad, of Avon, Steven (Pamela) Wilkison and their children, Michaela and Collin, of Park City, Utah, Christine (Mike) Ryan and their son, Oscar, of Eagle, and Karyn (Jim) Minar and their daughters, Sophia and Emelia, of Avon.

Private family services will be held in Colorado at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Parkinson Association of the Rockies.
