Edwards resident Ervin Park has died
Ervin “Sparky” Park, a longtime resident of Lake Creek in Edwards, died Wednesday.
Park was born in Austin, Colo., to Thomas E. Park and Alice Dayhuff. He grew up in the Delta-Grand Junction area. He spent a short stint in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Park bought a small ranch on Lake Creek in the early 1950s. He later supplemented his income working for Vail Associates as a lift operator and also worked for Bob Burford in the summer.
Burford sold his business to George Webster, for whom Park worked until his retirement.
Park loved hunting, fishing and the outdoor life ranch work provided, family members and friends said.
Further details on memorial services will be forthcoming.
