George Terry, 1944 – 2003
Born in Eagle Nov. 3, 1944, to Ute and Nina Terry, he was the youngest of seven children. He went to school in Eagle and Gypsum. He married Elsa Singleton on Jan. 17, 1965.He liked to hunt and fish and spend time with his children, family members said. He was a truck driver who worked for Satterfield, Nottingham and Ken Lewis.Survivors include: his wife, Elsa Terry, of Delta; son John Terry (Erin) of Denver; daughters, Betty Terry of Delta and Mindi (Shawn) Harper of Rangley; sisters Wanda Carter and Betty (Sam) Carter of Edwards, Bonnie (Frank) Ward of Gypsum and Patricia (Bob) Stevenson of Phoenix; sister-in-law Wanda Terry of Rifle; Aunt Nanny Brannon and Uncle Port Brannon of Smithville, Okla; numerous nieces and nephews; and nine grandchildren.He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lester and Hoot, and his parents.Visitation is scheduled for today from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Service in Delta. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Taylor Service Chapel in Delta.Memorial contributions may be made to: Touch of Care, in memory of George Terry, 535 Main St., Delta, CO, 81416.Arrangements were handled by Taylor Funeral Service & Crematory.
