Henry ‘Hank’ Emery dies at 78

Henry “Hank” A. Emery Jr., a former Vail Mountain ski instructor who was living in Denver, has died at age 78. Emery was a graduate of the University of Maine and the Colorado School of Mines. He worked in the field of geographic information systems. He was a founder of the Geospatial Information and Technology Association.Emery also worked at the Vail ski school and was a supervisor in the High Rockies Ski Program. He was a member for 40 years of the Professional Ski Instructors of America and former president of the Rocky Mountain Ski Instructors Association.His is survived by his children, Trask Emery, Timothy Scott Emery and Ptarmigan Emery, all of Denver, and by a brother, Guy T. Emery, of Brunswick, Me.Memorial Services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday at Temple Sinai, 3509 S. Glencoe, Denver. Memorial donations may be made to Temple Sinai.Arrangements were handled by Rundus Funeral Home.Vail Colorado
