Holley memorial set for Friday
Co-workers of Holley are inviting anyone who knew the popular cameraman to come and celebrate his life. Attendees will have a chance to share thoughts and stories about Holley during his time in the Vail Valley.
Holley, a 23-year-old Avon resident, was found dead of a gunshot wound Dec. 29 at the television station’s Avon studio. The death has been ruled a suicide.
Holley, who grew up in Greenwich, Conn., began working for Vail Valley Community Television Channel 5 two years ago. As part of his job duties, Holley filmed local council meetings, school board discussions and other political and social events in the Vail Valley.
A memorial fund has been set up to create a lasting memorial for Holley somewhere in the valley.
Contributions can be sent to: Oliver Holley Memorial Fund, c/o Vail Valley Community Television Channel 5, PO Box 5600, Avon, CO, 81620.
