Imogene Brockett, who spent much of her childhood in Eagle and Minturn, died Tuesday in Fruita. She was 84.

Brockett was born on Nov. 19, 1922, to Green and Rachel Perkins in Domino, Ky. She married James K. Brockett in 1966 in Missouri. He died on March 4, 2003.

After marrying, she lived Grand Junction, Denver, Canon City and returned to western Colorado’s Grand Valley in 2005.

Brockett was a homemaker, loved traveling, gardening, and made many handicrafts that she would share with her family and friends, family members said.

She belonged to the Neighbors of Woodcraft and the Elketts Lodge 610.

Brockett is survived by her son, Glen White of Grand Junction; daughter Judy (Bill) Baker of Fruita; grandchildren Roger (Olena) Ward of Fruita, Russell (Teresa) White of Grand Junction, Scott (Crista) White of Grand Junction and Susan (Kenneth) Chadwick of Minturn; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers, Eldon and Dempsey Perkins.
