Jack Bambei of Vail, 1952-2005

Vail resident Jack Frederick Bambei died Nov. 16 in Grand Junction. He was 52.

Bambei was born Dec. 14, 1952 in Sterling, Colo. to Laretta H. Bambei and the late John H. Bambei. He graduated from Hobbs High School in Hobbs, N.M. in 1971.

He worked at NAPA Auto Parts in the Vail Valley. Family members and friends say Bambei will be remembered for his kindness, generosity and quick smile.

Along with his father, who died Feb. 28, Bambei was preceded in death by his grandparents: Mr. and Mrs. James Brown of Evansville, Ind., and Mr. and Mrs. Antel Bambei of New Harmony, Ind.

He is survived by a brother, John H. Bambei and his wife, Marie, of Arvada, Colo.; nephew Sean A. Bambei and his wife, Casey, and their children Makena, Kailee and Kamryn of Westminster, Colo.; and nephew Scot A. Bambei and his wife, Jennifer, and their children, Joel, Jaxon and Jarret of Lonetree, Colorado.
