James Dorsey, of Avon, died June 11

James Dorsey

James Francis Dorsey, a resident of Avon since 1996, died June 11. He was 59. After graduating from St. Anselm’s College in New Hampshire, Dorsey pursued a career in advertising and marketing, working for CitiBank in New York City and in McCann Erickson’s Honolulu office.

Most recently, he served on the board of directors for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. While in Colorado, Dorsey pursued his passion for reading and writing, family and friends say.

He is survived his aunt, Dorothy Ringer of Somerset, Mass. In lie of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Dorsey’s memory to: Vail Valley Home Care and Mountain Hospice, 320 Beard Creek Rd., Edwards, CO 81632.
