James Greenwald, valley homeowner, has died
Dr. James H. Greenwald died in Chicago Monday. He was 73.
Greenwald was born in Trenton, N.J. and graduated from the Lawrenceville School, Princeton University and Yale Medical School. After an internship and residency at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Greenwald practiced nephrology and internal medicine in the Chicago area from 1960 until he retired in 2000.
Greenwald was a member of many national medical societies and wrote several research papers.
Greenwald was preceded in death in April by Judith Sclier Greenwald, his wife of 48 years.
Greenwald is survived by his son, Dr. Daniel Greenwald and wife Juli of Tampa, Fla.; daughter Jill Greenwald and her husband, Jonathan Liebman, of Santa Monica, Calif.; sister Weezie Davidson of Somers, N.Y.; and four grandchildren: Alex and Oliver Greenwald, and Kate and Judd Liebman.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday, at the Drake Hotel, E. Walton Place at N. Michigan Avenue in Chicago.
