Jason Wayne Olesen, 26, dies in Gypsum

Jason Wayne Olesen passed away October 14 at his home in Gypsum. He was 26.

Olesen was born in Glenwood Springs to Gerald Wayne Olesen and Sandra Kay Kesterson Olesen of Gypsum, on April 4, 2003, and was a lifelong resident of Gypsum and a fifth generation resident of Eagle County. He loved his family and friends and enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, camping, 4-wheeling and group mechanics, friends and family members say.

Jason is survived by his young son, Clayton Robert Olesen, and his life companion, Jennifer Walck of Eagle. Other survivors include his parents, Sandra Kay Lankford of Canon City and Gerald Wayne Olesen (Joann Terry) of Gypsum; grandparents, Bob and Dottie Kesterson of Canon City; step sisters, Crystal and Tamara Lankford of Canon City; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Jason was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Shirley Olesen of Eagle.

A fund for Olesen’s son Clayton has been established at Wells Fargo Bank and donations can be made in Clayton Robert Olesen’s name at any Wells Fargo bank location.
