Joe Trulillo, father of local man, dies

Joe Trujillo, a miner and father of Red Cliff resident Jerry Trujillo, died Friday. He was 93.

Trujillo was born on Aug. 18, 1911 in Durango to Solomon and Emma Trujillo.

On Dec. 25, 1938, he married Ida Atencio from Salida. Trujillo worked at the zinc mine in Gilman for 46 years.-

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ida; brothers John Trujillo and Chris Trujillo; and three sisters, Elizabeth Salazar, Josephine Salazar and Elsie Salazar

He is survived by two children, Jerry Trujillo of Red Cliff and Donna Jean Duran; two sisters, Dolores Roden of Boise, Idaho and Stella Medina of Las Vegas, Nev.; a brother, Solomon Trujillo and his wife, Gloria; sister-in-law, Carmel (Forest) Hamilton, Alice (Isidro) Solano, and Chuck (Rachel) Atencio, and Joe Andrew (Betty) Atencio.-

Recitation of the Rosary at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2005 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church followed by Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend James King officiating.- Arrangements handled by Holt Family Funeral Home.
