John Dunham Jr., 1925-2007

John H. Dunham Jr. died Tuesday at 11:35 a.m. in the Illinois Veterans Home. He was 81.

He was born Sept. 29, 1925. in Chicago, the son of John H. Sr. and Lee Yerger Dunham.

Dunham served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and received his bachelor’s degree from Purdue University. He started and ran his own printing business in Chicago for 20 years. He moved to Colorado where he was a real estate developer.

Dunham was active with the Boy Scouts of America and enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating, family members said.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Dorothy Curtis.

He is survived by his sons, John H. Dunham and his wife, Tammie, of North Platte, Neb., and James Dunham and his wife, Peggy, of Delavan, Ill.; grandchildren Sarah, Krissy, John, and Shawn, all of North Platte, and Elizabeth of Delavan.

Graveside services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at Sunset Cemetery with the Rev. John Adams officiating.

Memorials may be made to Illinois Veterans Home Activity Fund in his name.
