John Ralf Beckman, longtime Minturn resident, 1948-2010

John Ralf Beckman was born Jan. 7, 1948, and passed away Aug. 11. He died at the age of 62.

He died at the VA hospital in Denver after a long illness.

John is survived by his sons, Myles; his brothers, Mike, Ted, Mark and Robin; and his sister, Bonnie.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1968 to 1970. John lived in the Minturn area for 40 years. As a skilled carpenter, he worked on many homes and buildings in the surrounding areas. He last worked at the Pro Desk Department of The Home Depot.

He leaves behind many friends in the Minturn-Vail area as well as in other parts of the country.

He is loved by all and will be missed.

A memorial to celebrate John’s life will be held between 2 and 5 p.m. Saturday at the Eagle River Inn in Minturn.
