Jose Felix, of Gypsum, dies at 66

GYPSUM – Jose Felix, a former produce manager at Gypsum’s Columbine Market, died Tuesday. He was 66. Felix was born April 23, 1939, in Albuquerque, N.M. He was married to his wife, Mabel, for 36 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Cipriano Felix and Christine Chavez; daughters Theresa and Darlene Felix; and his brothers, Enrique, Cipriano and Candido Felix. Felix is survived by his son George Felix of Albuquerque; daughters Grace Brown-Barraza and her husband, Valentin, of Avon, and Angel Felix of Albuquerque; stepsons Leroy and Ben Sandoval of Albuquerque; brother Leo and Lando Felix of Albuquerque; sisters Nancy Felix and Frances Pacheco, both of Albuquerque; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Emerald Felix and Fernando Torres; Leroy Valles and Dana Ward; Theresa Felix-Barraza; Joe Felix; Monique, Dominic, Erin and Marisa Felix; Leroy and Nicole Sandoval; and great-grandchildren Joseph Felix, Mariah and Christina Valles, and Victor Torres. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Eagle. In lieu of flowers, the families donations be made to Jose Felix, care of FirstBank. Vail, Colorado
