VAIL, Colorado –Joyce Marilyn Brenner, a 40-year resident of the Vail Valley, passed away peacefully in her home on Monday.
Joyce was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on April 9, 1935, to Erwin and Clara Sykora. She was a professional model in Milwaukee until she married Raymond Brenner and began her life as a devoted mother.
Her husband and their two children moved to Vail in 1970. Joyce was immediately at home in the mountains of Colorado and never looked back. The valley always had a special meaning to her. Through the years, Joyce worked for the Golden Bear, The Finishing Touch and the Shaggy Ram, making lifelong friends along the way. She was a good listener and made a point to help those in need.
She is survived by her sons, Jimmy and Johnny; daughter-in-law Marka; and grandchildren Stefan (21), Elliott (19) and Wolfgang (12).
A memorial service is being planned for June 5 at the Vail Memorial Park in East Vail, with a reception to follow at the Tea Room Alpenrose in Vail Village.
