Juvenal Puerto-Romero, longtime Vail Valley resident, dies

EAGLE COUNTY, Colorado ” Juvenal B. Puerto-Romero of Las Vegas, Nev., was called to go home with the Lord on Friday. He was 71.

He was born on July 15, 1937, in Olandchito, Honduras, to Jose Puerto and Lucilla Romero.

He was a former Eagle County resident for 22 years. For the past five years he made Las Vegas his home and enjoyed a fulfilling retirement life.

Many knew of his integrity, unwavering work ethic and heart of gold. Juvenal “Juve” was a gentle, kind, and forgiving person. He enjoyed being a tailor and cooking for family and friends. His witty jokes and story telling moments will be missed.

He will forever remain in our hearts as a great husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend.

Survivors are his loving wife of 21 years, Marina Puerto; stepson Richard Glackin; stepdaughter Haley Medina (husband, Martin Medina) and grandchildren; niece Norma Zuniga of Avon, Colorado, and respectively including; two sons, three daughters, and four siblings, and many extended family members in various locations.

Memorial services will be held privately in Las Vegas, Nev. and in Honduras by immediate family members.

The family thanks everyone for their condolences.
