Leslie Chambers dead at 42
Long-time Vail resident Leslie Chambers died in her sleep May 25 in Clear Lake, Calif. She was 42 years old.
She lived in Vail throughout the 1980s, working a variety of jobs, including long stints as a sous chef at the Marriott and as a bus driver for the town. An autopsy was unable to determine the cause of death, but had been “in great duress” over her mother’s incurable cancer, said a family friend, David Dasse. “Ironically,” Dasse said, “she and her mother passed away on the same day.”
Chambers is survived by her seven cats and many friends.
She loved to travel, Dasse said, “and it is certain she would appreciate a toast to send her on this journey.”
