LIfetime Eagle County resident Eileen Joyce Walcher dies at 75

Walcher, an Eagle County resident her entire life, grew up on a ranch at the upper end of the Gypsum Valley. She attended grade school at the Gypsum Valley School on Dagget Lane and graduated from Eagle County High School in Gypsum in 1945.

She is survived by her husband, Ernest “Doc” Walcher, who she married on May 13, 1946, in Elko, Nev.

Other survivors include: her children, Don Walcher of Vail, Janet Cunningham of Englewood, and Dennis Walcher of Littleton; grandchildren Michael and Sara Cunningham, Erika and Stefan Walcher; and a grandchild, Christian Farr.

Aunts include Thelma Wilson of Carbondale and Georgia Lewis of Grand Junction; cousins include Charlotte Mayne and Barbara Johnson of Grand Junction, Shirley Shelton of Eagle, Jo Ann Bersett of Folsom, Calif., Emily Mae Magnee of Los Angeles, and Stina Agnes and Anita Berquist of Lek Sand, Sweden.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Anderson.

Graveside services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday at Gypsum’s Cedar Hill Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 2280 S. Albion St., Denver, CO, 80222.
