Longtime Red Cliff resident Trujillo passes away at 86

Longtime Red Cliff resident Ida Trujillo died Saturday in Canon City. She was 86.

Services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Canon City. Interment will be held at Lakeside Cemetery, also in Canon City.

Trujillo was born Oct. 23, 1916, in Lagarita to Joe and Esther Atencio. She married Joe Trujillo Dec. 25, 1938, in Salida, and shortly thereafter the couple moved to Red Cliff.

She is survived by her husband, Joe; son Jerry Trujillo of Avon; daughter Donna Jean Duran of Thornton; sisters Alice Solano of Canon City and Carmel Hamilton of Casper, Wyo.; and brother Frank Atencio of Gardner.

She is also survived by three grandsons: Lance and Lane Trujillo of Red Cliff and Jon Duran of Thornton, one granddaughter and six great-grand children.

Her parents, one brother and three sisters preceded her in death.
